Privacy Policy

Promestic ("we", "us") respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), role (employer, worker, independent), employer linking codes, profile information you provide (job role, area, languages, experience), task and training activity you record in the app, and — only if you choose to submit it — identity-verification documents (e.g. SA ID, passport, selfie).
2. How we use it
To create and operate your account, link workers to employers, schedule and verify tasks, deliver training, calculate your performance scores, surface relevant recruitment matches, send service notifications, and meet legal obligations.
3. Who can see it
Linked household members see only the information needed for their role (an employer sees their worker's task progress; a worker sees their employer's tasks). Recruitment information is only visible if you switch your profile to visible. Identity documents are visible to a small group of Promestic admins for verification review and are never shown to other users.
4. How we keep it safe
Data is stored on secure infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is protected by row-level security so each user can only read records they are entitled to. Identity documents are stored in a private bucket reviewed only by admins.
5. Your POPIA rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time from the Profile screen, withdraw consent for optional processing (such as identity verification), object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is active and for a short period afterwards to meet legal and audit requirements. Identity documents are deleted once verification is concluded or withdrawn.
